The script was tight, the subject was interesting, the acting was extraordinary (particularly Edward Norton, as one may expect), the direction is motivating, and the cinematography staggering. It is one of the few movies in the last decade that should be seen multiple times. Indeed, in the event that you have seen it just once, you have missed something. I was genuinely trusting the motion picture would get Oscar nominations for Best Actor (Norton), Best Screenplay, Best Director, Best Cinematography and Best Picture, but they couldn't make it.
Thus, how is it that the film got no nominations? Tragically, it had a confused advertisement crusade. The promotions made it would appear that the motion picture was about street boxing, rather than a savvy and passionate ride through a man's mind as he takes an abnormal way to insubordination to consumer society. Accordingly, most who went to see it were baffled, and the individuals who would remember its splendour stayed far from the movie theaters. This is a standout amongst the most underrated movies I know.
I generally love Films that keep you entertained and keep you speculating, and this film scores a 10 in both. The individuals who appreciated The Game, Memento, or The Matrix truly ought to look at it.
